The United Nations is merely one aspect of the “mystery of iniquity,” which is the devil’s program to put the man of sin on the throne of this world. The mystery of iniquity is under God’s sovereign control and cannot succeed until God allows. The timing of the revelation of the Antichrist is in God’s hands. See 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12. In the meantime, God has given His redeemed people their marching orders in Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:44-48; and Acts 1:8, and as ambassadors of Christ and priests of God and strangers and pilgrims, that is the business we are to occupy ourselves with until the Rapture. The preaching of the gospel, the building of sound churches, and the establishment of fruitful Christian homes is our business. We should know what is happening in the world, but to focus on conspiracies and signs is misguided. “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved” (2 Thessalonians 2:7-10).
